Ella Mae Shelburne Weeks

Ella Mae Weeks, 74, of Salem, VA passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was born on Friday, November 15, 1946, in Vinton, VA. To be frank, Ella was an animal lover at heart! Her dogs were her pride and joy. She had an extensive career with the Atlantic Insurance Company with whom she retired. Aside from her dogs, NASCAR was a favorite pastime of both she and her husband, “MC”. She was greeted on the shores of heaven by her mother, Nellie Marie Scaggs Shelburne; a brother, Waltie Allen Shelburne; and her precious son, Henry McKinley Weeks, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years as of the 15th of August, Henry McKinley “MC” Weeks, Sr.; brother, Aubrey Shelburne and wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Marie Dalton; brother-in-law, Odell Monroe Weeks and wife, Nancy; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her fur-baby, Bella.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA, with Pastor Dan Carawan officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until the service hour.
