Irene Smith Walker

Irene Smith Walker, 97, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at her home. She was born December 31, 1923, in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late Roy and Susie Cooke Smith. She loved to cook, sew and play the guitar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Walker; daughter, Erie Dandridge; sons, Charles Walker and James Raymond Walker; sisters, Virginia Niblett, Ethel Penn, Vera Holland and Lutisha Hairston; brothers, Ferdinand Smith, John Smith, Willie Smith, Thomas Smith, Everett Smith and Ainsley Smith.

She is survived by sons; Perry Walker, Roy Walker, Glen Walker (Phyllis); sisters Lessie Holland (Abraham) and Geralene Adams; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
