Mildred Adelene Harper Moore

Mildred Adelene Harper Moore, 87, of Talley Street, South Boston, died Thursday, September 2, 2021.  She was preceded in death by Miller Moton Walker, father of their children, and Brantley Moore husband.
Born in Charlotte County, VA, May 10, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Lucy Wray Ledbetter and Mebane Smith Harper.  Mildred attended Hope Church.
She is survived by five children, Brenda Walker Jacobs and husband, Randy of South Boston, Janet Walker Moore and husband, Kerby of Farmville, Thomas “Tommy” Walker and wife, Luanne, Miller Wayne Walker and wife, Christy and Tina Walker Woosley and husband, Gary all of South Boston; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with the anticipated arrival of two more. 
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen Randall Jacobs; and three brothers, Larry Harper, Lewis Harper and Carroll Harper.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Hope Church, South Boston, with Rev. Jesse Young officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Brandon Coates.
