William Robert "Bobby" Greer

William Robert “Bobby” Greer, 73, of Bassett, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home.  He was born in Rocky Mount on September 27, 1947, the son of the late Russell Lewis Greer and the late Mary Jane Lawson Greer.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dradart Greer and Lane A. Greer
William is a U. S. Army veteran, having served with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade out of Germany.    He fought for is country in Vietnam.  William was a partner with Feed The Children. He was a life member of the NRA and the Japanese Skotokan Karate Association.
William is survived by his loving wife, Anna Greer; son, Charles Robert Greer; sister, Jane Spencer; step-son, Darrell Hylton; step-daughters, Elizabeth Hylton and Karen Hylton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with    Pastor David Boarman                          officiating.  Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Henry Memorial Park.
