Donald Wayne Vaughan

Donald Wayne Vaughan, 79, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born in Martinsville, on March 12, 1942, to the late Nicodemus Vaughan and Mildred Pauline Franklin Vaughan.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Nolen; brothers, Leroy Vaughan, Kenneth Vaughan, and Tony Vaughan; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Mr. Vaughan served in the United States Navy and was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Living God. He loved riding horses, walking his dog, Civil War parks, Westerns, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Elizabeth Moore Vaughan; daughters, Elizabeth “Ann” Hundley and Susan Mize; son, Darrell Franklin Vaughan; brother, Bunny Vaughan; sister, Alayne Turman; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Henry Memorial Park, with Pastor Kenny Gunn officiating.

The family will accept visitors at the home pf his daughter, Ann Hundley, in Axton.
