Lawrence Everett Baker, Sr.

Lawrence Everett Baker, Sr., 70, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his home. He was born February 21, 1951, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Eddie Woodrow Wilson Baker and Mary Elizabeth Staples Baker. He was a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross. Mr. Baker enjoyed singing, listening to the oldies, quartet music, animals and the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Everett Baker, Jr.; brothers, Edward Junior Baker and Woodrow Wilson Baker.

He is survived by daughters, LaSean Gravely (Michael) and Germaine Robertson; son, Courtney M. Baker; sisters, Fannie Eggleston and Earlene Clark (James); eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to LaSean and Michael Gravely, Jr. for taking special care of Mr. Baker.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Fair Haven Memorial Park, Spencer, Virginia. A floating visitation will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
