Eleanor Drinkard Kidd, October 18, 1931-September 26, 2021, of Evington passed away at her residence peacefully at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Bishop William S. Kidd Jr. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Eleanor was born in Campbell County, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and retired in Lynchburg, Virginia. She loved the Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy for over 75 years and loved serving the Lord. She retired from JC Penney where she loved working in the Men’s Suit Department. Eleanor loved traveling to Israel with the church and enjoyed bible studies in her home with her friends. She loved making chocolate fudge for her family and friends and her homemade canned Jams and Jelly.

She is survived by her three pride and joy children, Carolyn Witt, Judy Kidd, Pastor David Kidd and wife Cindy. She was a proud grandmother of Jason Gaudet, Jamie Marsh, Christina Kidd-Lahey, Elizabeth Brooks, Jennifer Harrison, Austin Wright, Amanda Wright, Kayla Wright as well as her beloved great grandchildren, Marissa Swenson, Karrin Swenson, Amelia Marsh, Sebastian Marsh and Alyshia Wright and other dear relatives and lifelong friends.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended from her children to our Aunt Tamera Hutchinson, for your compassion, devotion and dignity given to our mother during her final days.
And a special thanks to Kenny Davis (whom mom considered part of her family), who made it possible for our mom to stay in her home until the end of her life, and that was no small thing. Knowing that you were there helping her brought great comfort to our family. I am truly thankful for what you did for our family.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial gathering to be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Church of God of Prophecy located at 915 9th St, Altavista, VA 24517.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8.
