Saeb Abdelhadi

December 14, 1972 - October 9, 2021

Saeb was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on December 14, 1972. He moved to Houston, Texas at age 8 and later to Roanoke, Virginia at the age of 14. Saeb fell in love with Roanoke, especially the Fall season, and never wanted to leave. He had a passion for adventure, singing, writing, and performing in plays. On October 9th, God called Saeb to join him in his eternal home in Heaven. Saeb is survived by his wife Sonya, his daughters Alayna (18), Alyssa (12), his mother Lydia, brothers, Nasser, and Assad Abdelhadi, sister-in-law Kasey and nephew, Noah, in addition to many loved ones we call family. Saeb was employed as a technology educator by Carilion Clinic. He was a generous person who led with kindness and empathy in his work.

Saeb gave the best bear hugs, had a contagious laugh, and had such a deep love for his girls and family that was noticed by all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of a servant’s heart – always taking care of others and putting their needs before his own.

A private family burial service will be held Wednesday, October 13th at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, October 13th from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Edgewood Christian Church, 1006 Peck Street, Roanoke, Virginia at 5:00 pm. Family and friends are invited.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Carilion Clinic’s Lend a Hand Employee Emergency Fund, in honor of Saeb. The family would like to thank the 8 South Radius ICU staff for their compassion, love, and support of Saeb’s care during his stay.
