Posie Mitchell

Posie Mitchell, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Thursday October 7, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Danville. He was born November 1, 1946 to the late George Mitchell and Mary Tinsley Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Mitchell.

He was employed by West Widow Company for ten years, and Bassett Walker Knitting for ten years. He was a member of KMB Church Without Walls (Kingdom Minds Believers).

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his companion, Inez Penn; sons, Posie Scales (Diana Collins), Jerome Penn and Robert Penn; sisters, Susan Mitchell, Lizzie Garland, Mary Scales, Martha Mitchell, and Marie Moore; brother, Phillip Mitchell; grandchildren, Deon Scales, Sean Scales, Liam Scales, Brianna Scales, Christy Ward, Mercedes Penn; and godchildren, Amber Veneable and Heather Martin.
