Aven Lee Watson

Aven Lee Watson, 74, of Bassett passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Sovah Martinsville Hospital. He was born in Axton on December 19, 1946 to the late George Calvin Watson and the late Ruby McDaniel Watson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Frances Koger.
Aven served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Hooker Furniture company for 20 year.
Aven is survived by son, Robert Watson; daughter, Tammy DeLong; four grandchildren; sisters,  Patsy Agee, Margaret “Margie” Cannaday and Agnes Wilson; and loving and cherished caregivers, Tim and Allison Davis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Burial Park where the burial will take place after the service.
 
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
