George "Wayne" Wray

George “Wayne” Wray, 78, of Rocky Mount, passed away October 9, 2021, at his home. He was born February 24, 1943, to the late Posey Austin Wray and Annie Maude Holland Wray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Ella Sue Chitwood.

Wayne served in the United States National Guard, was very successful with assisting VA State Police in removal and extrication services as the owner of J & R Garage, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, with friends and his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sylvia Wray; daughter; Tammy Lawless (Russell); a very special niece Kerry Ann; sisters; Barbara Wray Smith, Kathy Hudson (Billy), and Rhonda Kay Heptinstall (David); brother, Billy Wray (Dianne); and two grand dogs; Sassy Jo and Peanut.

A Memorial Services will be held, at a later date for family and special friends.
