Jessie Anthony Howard

Jessie Arnold Howard, 76, of Roanoke, VA., passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2021. Jessie was a loving husband to his wife Peggy Ann Lucado Howard for over 52 years. They loved celebrating their wedding anniversary especially their 50th wedding anniversary with their family and friends in 2019. He loved going hunting with his son Tony, grandson Brian, and his brother Edward. They made many memories while they were hunting over the years and it was not always about getting a large buck but being able to spend time together and make special hunting memories.

He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Ann Lucado Howard, son Anthony and wife April Howard, and grandson Brian Howard. Also his brother Edward and wife Judith Howard of Copper Hill and two sisters; Mable and husband Wayne Dulaney of Roanoke and Edith Light of Christiansburg. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Jessie enjoyed being raised on the farm in Floyd, Va. He was very active in taking care of the “homeplace” with his family. He especially enjoyed telling is grandson Brian about the farm life. Jessie and his son Tony and grandson Brian would also discuss many parts of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) since they were all alumni and Jessie would enjoy hearing about different events that Brian was in while in FFA. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a devoted Christian. He retired from General Electric in Salem, VA.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel.
