Nancy Lou Hart Hall Stultz

September 21, 1941 - October 10, 2021

Nancy Lou Hart Hall Stultz, age 80, of Salem, Virginia, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Jesus whom she loved so much on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Nancy was proud to be a daughter of her of a West Virginia coal miner. She moved with her large family to the Roanoke Valley as an infant and was raised on a farm. She never forgot her humble beginning or lost love for flowers and all living things, especially hummingbirds. Nancy graduated from William Byrd High School and was always proud of her southern roots and her loving family. Nancy was a gorgeous young bride who married James Ray Hall from Floyd, Virginia. She and Ray raised 5 children together. Nancy was a very hard worker, who worked at several bookkeeping jobs throughout her career. She was always precise, efficient, and known for her impeccable work ethic. However, Nancy was famous for her delicious southern cooking, love for spoiling pets and grandchildren rotten, and making everyone feel loved. She always called people her friend and by doing so made them one instantly. She was never too busy to listen to someone’s problems, never too selfish not to share, and never overlooked anyone. Nancy had an amazing sense of humor. She was so witty and delightful that she often made doctors laugh no matter how serious her situation. Nancy loved to travel and throughout her life visited all 50 states, as well as Greece. She found joy and laughter wherever she went, and when it wasn’t there she created it. Ray went to Heaven earlier than Nancy, and Nancy remarried Lowell Stultz in her later years. Nancy and Lowell pastored a small church in Martinsville, Virginia. Nancy created a puppet ministry, learned to play an electric guitar in her 60s, fed the church countless meals, and shared her love of Christ and of people wherever she went. Nancy had an infectious love for fun, passion for children, and was utterly devoted to her family. She used her amazing creativity in every area of her life. Her legacy was too great for any one person, but to Dianne she left her charm and beauty, to Susie she left her incredible gift of the love of children, to Buck she left her amazing cooking skills, to Mary she left her ability to multi-task and love for decorating, and to Betsy she left her the gift of the how to create laughter and fun.

Nancy’s parents, Jesse and Marvin Hart, and her husband, James Ray Hall, preceded her in death. Nancy has had 3 brothers precede her, Doug Hart, Ray Hart, and Julian Hart.

Nancy leaves behind her husband, Lowell Calvin Stultz; and 3 siblings, Margaret Roberson, Edith Fisher, and Tom Hart. Nancy also leaves behind her children, Dianne Ward and husband, Matt, Susan Conn and husband, Todd, Buck Hall, Mary Johnson and husband, Dave, and Betsy Linkous and husband, Chris. She treasured her grandchildren, Josh and Heather Ward, Adrian Conn, Steven and Torie Conn, Nick and Marysa Conn, Cameron Conn, Kalin Conn, Haley Conn, and Destiny Conn, Jeremy and Kelsie Kinkead, and Tyler and Megan Johnson. Nancy also had 5 wonderful great-grandchildren, Davis, Bentley, and Lincoln Ward, Colton Kinkead, and Davey Johnson. She also has two great-granddaughters who will be born soon, Aria Kinkead and Charlotte Conn.

The family is honoring Nancy at the Richfield Chapel on Wednesday October 13, 2021. A period of visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
