Shamus Brian Wade

Shamus Brian Wade, 42, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at his home. He was born August 31, 1979, in Rocky Mount, Virginia to Rita Craighead Gamble and the late Gary Wade. He was a graduate of Martinsville High School. Shamus loved spending time with family, dancing, singing, playing corn hole and football (especially the Redskins).

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Wade.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Hailey Wade and Ke’Nyah Hairston; son, Daveon Wade (Shelby); sister, Chinita Craighead-Davis (Vickie); brother, Shannon Wade, two grandchildren; and grandparents, Ida Rebecca Wade, and John and Marie Craighead.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 1:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Avery Preston officiating. A floating visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at others times at 107 Emmett Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
