Martha Lee Skinnell Markham

Martha Lee Skinnell Markham of Goode, Va gained her heavenly wings on October 14, 2021. She was born on Thursday, August 18, 1932 in Bedford, VA to the late James Teass Skinnell and Neva Davis Skinnell. Martha was proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerald W. Markham and her daughter Vickie M. Perkins; her brother, Andrew T. Skinnell and her sisters, Elizabeth A. Skinnell and Shelby S. Mays. Martha was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Susie Witt and husband, Tommy, Linda Bays and Cathy Kinsley; her son-in-law, Rick Perkins; grandchildren Callie Robertson (Gary), Tomi Turner (Jimbob), April McCrickard, Hattie Elder (Jake), Jessica Perkins, Bobby Bays and Rebecca Perkins; her great-grandchildren Sarah Robertson, Codey Turner, Trucker Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Jackson Turner, Lillian McCrickard, Olivia Turner, and Arya Elder; her great-great-grandchildren Riley Goode, Grayson Slayton, Merrick Slayton and Harlynn Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers Becky Turpin and Bonnie Francis.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
