Mr. Wallace Edward “Slack” Pilson, Jr. passed away from his earthy home to be present with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Martinsville Health and Rehab.

Edward was born on April 21, 1958 in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Wallace Edward Pilson, Sr. and Lucy Johnson Pilson, who survives. He was also predeceased by his wife, Doris Z. Pilson. Brother, Mark Pilson. (Jody)

Edward accepted Christ at an early age. His Aunt Elizabeth “Lizzie” Pilson was a great inspiration to him and told him he was saved, once accepted Christ as his savior, and he never forgot that.He attended Henry County Schools and was a self employed Carpenter and Painter until he became disabled. Edward loved to make people laugh, he was ready for a good conversation. He was a great story teller also. He was loved by many.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, sisters, Georgia Hairston, Fieldale, Va., Janice Scales (Leon) Martinsville, Va., Althea “Tina” Thomas (Carr) Bassett, Princess “Anti” Washington (Allen) Upper Marlboro, MD., Va., brothers, Michael Pilson, Houston, TX, Warren Pilson, Bassett, Va., Stepchildren, Lee Reid, Charlottesville, Va., Brittany Hale, Roanoke, Va., granddaughter, Jermiah, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 23, 2921 in Carver Memorial Gardens where Interment will follow. Pallbearers: Antione Scales, Terry Scales, Kerry Scales, KeyShawn Kirby, Sean Young, Berkley Hairston, Ray Smith, Ferdinand "Kool" Smith. Flowers Bearers, Nieces.
