Hattie "Kitty" Gray Miles Horsley

Hattie ‘Kitty’ Gray Miles Horsley of Bassett, Virginia went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2021 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection.      Kitty was born in Spencer, Virginia on November 23, 1931to the late John and Clara Miles from Spencer, Virginia.  She had been married to the late Thornton H. Horsley for 31 years.  She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Kitty was an active member of the Old Well Christian Church and a former member of the Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was a high school graduate, avid bowler, artist, enjoyed traveling and retired from the Federal Government having worked 30 years but most of all was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Kitty is survived by her two sons, Richard Horsley and Gordon Horsley; two grandsons, Taylor Horsley and Christopher Horsley; a granddaughter, Jaime Horsley all of Florida and a sister in law, Sue Miles of Spencer, Virginia along with many nieces and nephews.      
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, 3665 Fairystone Park Highway, Bassett, Virginia 24055 where the funeral will follow 1:00 PM.    Entombment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.  
The family requests no food due to the circumstances of Covid-19 and a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
