Edward Bruce Umberger, III

Edward Bruce Umberger, III, 78, of Salem went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 22, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward B., Jr. and Mattie C. Umberger; sister, Hattie U. Lewis; and brothers-in-law, Robert W. Ratliff and Hurley R. Lewis.
Surviving are his sisters; Margaret U. (Sonny) Umberger; and Sylvia U. Ratliff; nieces, Teresa R. (Leo) Davis, Courtney (Vinnie) Mena; nephew, David (Ashley) Umberger; great nephews, Dylan W. Davis and Corey Umberger; great nieces, Kayley (Andrew) Mitchell, and Karen Mena; many cousins and friends that were very dear to him.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 4040 Williamson Road Roanoke, VA  24012.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wytheville, Va. by Vicar Luke Swanson.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707
