Bernice Hassell "Red" Hill

Bernice Hassell “Red” Hill, 75, of Martinsville, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his home. He was born January 26, 1946 in Patrick County to the late William and Viola Gammons Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bedford H. Woodard III; and a great-grandchild, Madison Woodard.

Red had been employed by DuPont for 27 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jeannie Clark Hill; son, Jody Hill (Becky); brother, Jimmy Hill (Nancy); grandchildren, B. J. Woodard and Chris Bousman; and great-grandchildren, Lexi Bousman, Kadence Bousman, Ivy Woodard, Chloe Smart, Isabel Smart and Clair White.

The funeral will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Minister Bill Preskett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
