Paulita Dillon Ayers Bixler

Paulita Dillon Ayers Bixler lovingly known to the residents of the Roanoke Valley as "Polly Ayers" went to her forever home on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Oakie Paul Dillon; mother, Melva Rita "Dolly" Johnson Dillon; and a cousin, Rebecca Dillon.

Polly attended the Richmond Professional Institute, now VCU. Many remember her for her involvement with civic organizations and especially her work on the local television program, Panorama.

Surviving are her husband, Larry Bixler; and a sister/cousin, Susan Garland.

Polly was an avid animal lover and the family asks that those who would like to honor her memory please consider making a memorial gift to Angels of Assisi 415 Campbell Avenue SW Roanoke, VA 24016.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Electric Road Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home 3912 Electric Road.
