Melissa Jane Kent
Melissa Jane Kent, age 73, originally from Gardner, Massachusetts, died on October 19, 2021 during a short stay at the Woltz Hospice Home in Yadkinville, NC. She moved to Virginia on Christmas of 2020 to live and be cared for by her daughter and son-in-law while battling a 20yr. illness with cancer.
She grew up in Templeton, Massachusetts and after graduating from High School, moved to Worcester, Massachusetts to work as a secretary and also as a model for the Barbizon Modeling and Acting Company.
While living in Worcester she met her husband of 40 yrs. Herbert Leslie Kent Jr. who went to be with the Lord in 2008. She worked many years as a Certified Nurses Aide in Nursing Homes doing what she loved and was most passionate about, caring for others. She was a forgiving, kind, loving and joy filled woman who genuinely loved the Lord and people, gave all she had freely, never expecting recognition or anything in return, leaving everyone she met with a smile. She was the example of 1Corinthians 13.
She was the kind of friend, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone would be blessed to have. She will be missed and remain in the hearts of those that loved her, ever and always.
Melissa is survived by a son Keith Mathew Kent, a daughter Janelle Ann Blake (LaDeau) (Kent), grandson Zackary LaDeau, granddaughter Sabrina Campos (Ladeau) and husband Mason Campos with their daughter, the 1st. great grandchild Harper Janelle Campos, brother Donald Riley, sister Mary Gallant (Riley), brother Darius Riley and wife Janet Riley, sister Laura Smith (Riley) and husband Bill Smith, brother Raymond Riley and wife Anne Riley. Along with many nephews, nieces, friends, old and new.
This world was a better place with my Melissa in it. If you met Melissa Kent she would tell you God loves you and if you had any troubles just give them to God and let them go, leaving them with a hug and a smile.
She will be buried alongside her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery-Winchendon, Massachusetts.
