Joanne Sowers Davidson

Joanne Sowers Davidson, 74, of Bassett, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Martinsville on December 12, 1946 to the late Alfred M. Sowers, Sr. and the late Bertha Chaney Sowers.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buddy C. Davidson; grandson, Dustin Davis and step-son, Calvin Davidson.
Joanne was of the Holiness faith and devoted her life showing her strong faith to everyone she met.  She would talk about the Lord and all that he had done for her during her lifetime.   
She is survived by her loving sons, Tim Davis (Allison) and Scott Davis (Dawn); devoted daughter, best friend and awesome caregiver, Faith Davis Markuson (James); grandchildren, Austin Davis, Morgan Davis, Ashley Parker (Jeffrey), Brandon Markuson (Natsha), Brittany Markuson; great grandchildren, Savannah, Sophia, Aiden, Silas, Kayden; sisters, Linda Delamarter (Jon), Avon Grosso (Joe), Pam Birden (Rick); brother, Alfred “Monty” Sowers, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A homegoing service will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Preskitt and Pastor Gary Wayne Shupe officiating.  Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
