Sharon Akers Walker

Sharon Akers Walker, 68, of Radford (formerly of Roanoke) went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was preceded by her parents, Claude and Alain Simmons Akers; sister, Jennifer Akers; brother, Ricky Akers; and twin infant daughters, Gretchen and Jamie.

Sharon worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several local churches.

Surviving are her husband, Cliff Walker; son, Aaron Walker; daughter, Angela (Tony) Lovern; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Eddie (Linda) Akers; sisters, Brenda Routt; and Shelia Campbell; and mother-in-law, Joann Walker Walthall.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their many friends for all of the prayers and acts of kindness shown during Sharon's illness.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Brent Strouf. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
