Barbara Campbell Murphy

Barbara Campbell Murphy, 86, of Martinsville, Va. passed away peacefully at Martinsville Hospital on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was born June 21, 1935 in Reidsville, N.C. and was the daughter of the late John T. Campbell and Eva Dix Campbell.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, William E. Murphy. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Harrison Toms, and her granddaughters, Lizzy Toms and Maggie Toms.

She was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church. Barbara was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother who loved art and had beautiful calligraphic handwriting. She was also a great organizer who enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 19th from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Mike Lewis officiating. The burial at Overlook Cemetery will be private.
