James Lee "Jimmy" Hatcher

September 7, 1938 - November 19, 2021

James Lee “Jimmy” Hatcher, 83, of Martinsville, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on September 7, 1938 to the late Layton Coy Hatcher and the late Bera Harbour Hatcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, James Stephen Hatcher; grandchild, Terrence Wilson-Tyler; brother, Lonza Hatcher and sister, Charlotte Fain.
Jimmy attended Patrick County Public Schools. He attended Ross Harbour United Methodist Church in Elamsville. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and Eagles Club. He was a contractor for 55 years at West Window trading as Hatcher Siding Service.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 42 years (May 26, 1979), Lessie Bennett Hatcher; son, James Lee Hatcher II (Jamie); daughters, Deborah E. Wilson, Pamela Wilson Hudson (Keith) and Lisa Wilson; grandchildren, Justin, Bri (Jeff), April (Mark), Ashley (Andrew), Taylor, Justin, and Timothy (Brandy); great grandchildren, Ralei, Austin, Jace, Marley, Tesla, Taryn, and Logan; brother, Herbert Hatcher; sisters, Barbara Kaufman (Ira), Etta Perry (Pete), and Betty Brown (Fred); brother-in-law, Tommy Fain and special pet, Bullet Colt Hatcher.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Gaylor. Burial will follow in the Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome.
