James Shannon Jenkins

James Shannon Jenkins, 72, of Spencer, Virginia passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. He was born November 16, 1949, in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late James Russell Jenkins, and Edna Louise Spence Taylor .

James was preceded in death by his parents.

James served 25 years in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He holds several medals including a purple heart. He attended Stone Memorial Christian Church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, wrestling, deer hunting, and his truck was his pride and joy.

James is survived by his wife, Martha Robinson Jenkins; daughters, Michelle Dove, Monica Jenkins (Donald Moore), Heather Spencer (Chris Spencer); sisters, Carolyn Trainham (Jody), Donna Holt (Marty); brother, Michael Jenkins; grandchildren, Nathan Jenkins, Hannah Moore, Baylie Spencer, Caden Moore, Connor Smith, and Cody Hill; great grandchild, Paisley Witt

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.

The family welcomes visitors at the home of Monica and Donald Moore, 271 Baronwood Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
