Edward Raeford Jones

Edward Raeford Jones, 95, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born July 2, 1926, in Sanford, North Carolina to the late Ed McDuffy Jones and Laura Payne Jones. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church. He had worked for Lockheed Martin and Smith and Kline Pharmacy. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, golfing, and traveling. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” Jones; sister, Gladys Jones; brothers, Graham Jones, B. C. Jones, Cecil Jones, Robert “Bob” Jones, Garland Jones, Jack Jones and Claude Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Loveleen Willard Jones; daughter, Linda Karen Jones-Neuman; grandchildren, Diana Shelton, Michael Neuman, and Timothy Neuman; and great grandchildren, Hunter Shelton, Sophie Neuman and Emma Shelton.

The funeral will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Rich Acres Christian Church with Pastor Tim Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
