Peggy Joyce Gwyn Peyton

Peggy Joyce Gwyn Peyton, 86, of Bassett, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Sovah Health-Martinsville.  She was born in Bland County on July 13, 1935 to the late William Calvin Gwyn and the late Alethea H. Holiver Gwyn.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buckerly Peyton; brothers, James Gwyn, Jack Gwyn and Junior Gwyn; sisters, Jean Lawson, Myrtle Kitts and Bonnie Croy.
Peggy is survived by her children, Bonita Peyton, Belinda Peyton and Jason Peyton; grandchildren, Alethea Martin, Robert Peyton, Jonathan Gilley, Jessica Gilley and London McPherson; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Gwyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Michael Gwynn officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
