Irby Garland King

Irby Garland King, 76, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia Hoffman King.

Born in Spout Spring, July 15, 1945, he was a son of the late Alta Knowles and Hatcher Garland King. Irby was a lifetime member of the Antique Automobile Club of America; he was one of the founding members of the Buzzard Breath Touring Region of AACA. Irby was a member of Black Rock Hunt Club, Greenway Hunt Club and member and director of Slate River Hunt Club.

He is survived by six children, Buck King of Concord, Linda Sue Burke and husband, Van of Appomattox, Missy Gartner and husband, Kenny of Concord, Ruth Sholes and husband, George of Rustburg, Dottie Shelton and husband, Rodney of Madison Heights and Jarred King and wife, Heather of Dillwyn; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Jackson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
