Jean E. Drewry

August 9, 1938 - January 13, 2022

On Thursday, 01/13/2022, Jean Sprinkle Drewry of Lynchburg passed away from complications of Covid-19. Jean was born August 9, 1938 in Fincastle, VA. She married Everette "Buck" Drewry on January 28, 1954.
Surviving are their four children; Dan Drewry (Kala) of Vinton Ronnie Drewry of Lynchburg, Pam Jones (Steve Sexton) of Knoxville and Judy Smith of Lynchburg. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her sister, Linda Corvin of Fincastle, 7 grandchildren whom she treasured; Mila (Bill) Brehm , Beth Drewry, Elwyn (Katie) ZImmerman , Brooke Jones, Zachary Zimmerman, Emily Drewry and Parker (Megan) Jones. She also had 6 great grandchildren she loved deeply and numerous nieces and nephews always very close to her heart.
Mom worked for GE/Ericsson for 40 years until her retirement. But mom could not retire, she continued to work until disease made it impossible for her to see or write well. She loved to crochet, and we all have afghans and baby blankets which will always remind us of her skill and dedication. Mom was a mother to all she met. She offered shelter to those who had nowhere else to go, kindness to strangers, and she always cooked enough food to feed an army. Mom spent much of her later life taking care of her husband, and she would have it no other way. They were married 67 years and died only days apart. She was patient and forgiving.
Visitation will be at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton, Virginia Wednesday, January 19 from 12:00-2:00p.m. followed by interment and a graveside service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 2:30p.m. with Pastor Rusty Shepherd officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Organization for Rare Disease. Online condolences may be made at www.lotzfuneralhomevinton.com
