Frances (Fran) Isabelle Gray-Catlett-Parris

Frances (“Fran”) Isabelle Gray-Catlett-Parris passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 in Roanoke, Virginia. Born in Roanoke Virginia in 1932 to Alexander and Lessie Gray, Fran was 89 years old at the time of her death, spending her final days at Friendship Manor in her beloved Roanoke.
Fran had two children, Daniel W. Catlett and the late Denise Catlett Brewen, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and seven stepchildren. She had a sister Sadie Hubbard, and two brothers Bobby Gray, Tommy Gray.
Fran moved to Washington DC in 1952 to work as a long distance phone operator for AT&T, where she met her husband Donald Catlett and raised their family in Springfield, Virginia. Frances remarried in 1978 after her husband passed away. She spent 35 years in Saluda South Carolina with her late husband Gordon Parris.
Fran leaves behind her son Daniel W Catlett, her daughter in law Ellen Lynch Catlett, her grandchildren, Kelly Brewen Cruse, Tori Lynch Catlett, Emma Barrett Catlett, Julia Gray Catlett, and her great grand children Lana Beth Cruse, Tyler Alexander Cruse. Fran loved her family, fashion, painting, gardening, sewing, listening to and singing country music, and will be missed.
