Albert Forrest Taylor
Albert Forrest Taylor, 81, of Appomattox, died on January 17, 2022, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of June Martin Taylor, the love of his life, with whom he shared 59 years.
Born in Appomattox County, on January 9, 1941, he was the son of the late Osborne Douglas Taylor and Mazie Franklin Taylor. He worked as a line foreman with G.E. and retired at Com Net after 42 years. Albert served at Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church. He was especially close to the MYF kids of the Pamplin United Methodist charge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews, Linda Short and husband, Phillip, Dudley Smith, Forrest Smith, Pamela Grizzard and husband, Kelton, Sharon Taylor and fiancé, Tony Ferguson, Dolly Sowell, Donnie Ferguson and wife, Aileen, Linda M. Dudley and husband, Bill, Debbie M. Mull, Allen R. Martin Jr., Dean Martin, and Tammy M. Stewart and husband, Randy; two sisters-in-law, Violet M. Barnes of Spout Spring and Carol B. Taylor of Appomattox; numerous great nieces and nephews including two special great nieces, Shawn Lee and husband, Jeff, and Shana H. Canada and husband, John; and two godchildren, Wesley Baldwin, and Terri Hancock Willis and husband, Tim.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis T. Smith and Peggy T. Staples, and a brother, George Rudel Taylor.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Evergreen United Methodist Church with Rev. David Drinkard officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
