Sallie (Leah) Johnston Thompson

Sallie (Leah) Johnston Thompson of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at her home. She was the wife of the late Boyd (Dick) Thompson.  
Born July 29, 1927, in Spout Spring, she was preceded in death by her husband and parents, John Dunn Johnston Sr. and Isabelle Allison Johnston.
Sallie retired from General Electric Company and was a lifetime member of Old Concord Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Lynchburg Ostomy Club and Spout Spring Widows Club.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Thompson McLaughlin of Lynchburg, Carlton Thompson (Carolyn) of Spout Spring, and Al Thompson (Sallie) of Bluffton, S.C.; four grandchildren, Todd Thompson (Michele) of Christiansburg, Cassie McLaughlin Taylor (Matt) of Aurora, ILL, Sara McLaughlin Demers (Ray) of Monmouth, Maine, and Jason McLaughlin (Kim) of Huntsville, ALA; and many great grandchildren.
Sallie was also preceded in death by her siblings, John Johnston, Jr, June Gilliam, William (Bill) Johnston and son-in-law, Owen McLaughlin.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Robinson Funeral Home, the Reverend Sammy Gunter will officiate. A private burial will be held at Old Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
