Annette V. Carter

January 13, 1960 - January 17, 2022

Annette Victoria Carter, 60, of Appomattox, died on January 17, 2022, at Virginia Hospital Center.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on January 13, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Leo Carter and Jeanette Stanley Wright and stepdaughter of the late Walter M. Wright.
Annette was a standout three sport high school athlete, playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. In 2018, she was inducted into the Appomattox Scholastic Sports Hall of Fame. Annette was a giving person, generous to a fault. She was a true friend to many.
She is survived by two sisters, Brenda W. Johnson and Hope W. Purvis and husband, Donald; nephews and niece, Scottie Allen and wife, Jane, Kevin Carter and Melissa, Matthew Carter and wife, LeAnn, Jeremy Carter and wife, Courtney, Cassidy P. Baier and husband, Sage and Shane Purvis; uncle, C. H. “Pete” Stanley, Jr.; and numerous cousins and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald Leo Carter, Jr., Gary Carter, and Michael Carter.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Curtis Walkup. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Appomattox County High School Softball Program, 198 Evergreen Ave., Appomattox, VA 24522.
