James C. "Jimmy" Snead

James C. “Jimmy” Snead, age 61 of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Jimmy was born in Roanoke March 19, 1960 and lived in the area all of his life. He is the son of the late Clifford Lee Snead and Patricia Ann Crouch Justis, who survives.

Jimmy was a mechanic for Power Line Rent-E-Quip and loved old cars, especially his green ’69 Chevelle and his ’81 Corvette. He enjoyed fishing, fighting, and was a master at picking on people. However, that tough exterior hid a generous, giving heart who was always willing to help others and loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Terry L. Snead; and his grandparents who raised him: James L. and Dora Perdue Snead. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vicky Sprinkle Snead; son, Christopher (Brooke) Jernigan; grandchildren: Jacob, Adrianna, and Alana Jernigan; a brother, Richard (Katherine) Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Smithers; niece, Miranda Bryant; nephews: Ricky Smithers and Christopher Snead.

A celebration of life will be announced later.
