Ruth Ann Walker Holly Hughes

Ruth Ann Walker Holley Hughes, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born December 20, 1941, in Virginia, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Walker and Sallie Carter Walker Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Hughes; her children, Jesse Judson Holley, Jr. and Michael Shawn Holley; sisters, Glenda Rebecca Walker, Sandra Walker Vernon and Naomi Walker Gresham; and brother, Charles Woodrow Walker and beloved dog Zeus.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her children, George Thomas (Tommy) Holley, Rebecca Anne Holley Pierce, and Melissa Holley Solomon; sister, Loretta Gail Thompson; grandchildren, Tiffany S. Williams, Christy Solomon, Michael G. Holley, Judson M. Holley, and Cheyenne Shaffer; eight great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
