Evelyn Jewell Bowles

Evelyn Jewell Bowles, 83, of Bassett, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at her home..  She was born on September 14, 1938 in Carroll County to the late Frank Hundley and the late Bitha Sawyers Hundley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Curtis Bowles; brothers, Glenn Hundley and Graham Hundley; sister, Irene Foley.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Gwen Wade (Allen) of Bassett, Ricky Bowles of Bassett, Debra Gravely (Jesse) of Martinsville, Gayle Ashley (Ira) of Patrick Springs, Ariel Ross (Brad) of Bassett and Dwayne Bowles (Vanessa) of Stanleytown; 7 grandchildren, Missy, Robbie, Kim, Brittany, Tiffany, Michael and Jacob; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous foster children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Freddie Bonds and Pastor Teddy Britton officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for COVID 19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing should be observed when visiting the funeral home.
