Carolyn Simons Young Woody

Carolyn Simons Young Woody, 76, of Spencer, Virginia walked through the pearly gates to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Carolyn was born in Tennessee to the late James and Betty Simons of West Virginia.

After moving to Virginia, Carolyn worked at Fieldcrest Mills and later studied nursing becoming an RN and worked at Memorial Hospital until becoming disabled.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Young Smart Fulcher; brothers, Buster and Jimmy Simons of West Virginia.

She is survived by her son, David R. Young (Ellie) of Texas; grandchildren, Garith, Seth, Kerrilyn and Ellie Marie Young also of Texas, D.J. Smart of Spencer, Virginia, and Ashley Morgan Fulcher (Julie) of Homestead, Florida; brother, J.J. Simons of Bluefield, West Virginia; sister, Sheryl Morton of Virginia; Special Friend, Peggy Smart and others too numerous to name.

A funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
