Hubert "Buzz" Grayson Richardson, Jr.

HUBERT (“BUZZ”) GRAYSON RICHARDSON, JR., 90, of Bland, VA, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at his home. He was born May 5, 1931, in Bland, VA, the son of the late Hubert Grayson, Sr. & Clara Dillow Richardson.
“Buzz” was proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He retired from the Bland Correctional Center. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (“Millie”) Wilson Richardson, his brother, Danny Richardson and his sister, Margot Grainger.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Anthony Richardson and Thomas M. Richardson; his daughter, Sheila Richardson Oakes; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons; and his sister, Gayle Williams.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Bland Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Johnston officiating. Military rites will be provided by the bland American Legion Post # 20 and the Bland VFW Post #7969.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in “Buzz’s” honor to either the Bland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 585, Bland, VA 24315 or Heritage Baptist Church, c/o Angela Johnson, P.O. Box 686, Bland, VA 24315.
