Robert Eugene Hackman

Robert Eugene Hackman, 90, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, MD on September 22, 1931 a son of the late Howard Gordon Hackman and Elizabeth Morris Hackman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ron Hackman; and a brother, Douglas Hackman. He served in the United States Air National Guard and retired as a foreman at Bethlehem Steel. After moving to Bedford, he worked in maintenance at the National D-Day Memorial. Robert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred “Millie” Moore Hackman; sons, Steven Hackman and wife Petra, John Hackman and wife Belle; daughter, Carol Ellis and husband Kenny; brother, Phillip Hackman and wife Donna; Ron’s wife, Cindy Hackman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Dawn Compton officiating.
