Sherry Atkinson Fraser

Sherry Atkinson Fraser, 80, of Altavista, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Sherry was born October 15, 1941 to Vernon and Faye Atkinson of Tallahassee, Florida.  She was retired from the City of Tallahassee.   She was a former member of the Phone Service Providers (PBX) organization which supported business telecommunications systems.  She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church of Lynchburg, Virginia.  She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children, Colonel (retired) Vernon C. Atkinson II of Statham, GA and Mrs. Sherry Denise Lawton of Altavista, VA; three sisters, Joan Melnick of Alligator Point, FL, Donna Atkinson of Titusville, FL and Anne McAfee of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Celebration Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Crosspoint Church, 1000 7th Street Altavista, Virginia.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service.  In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to North Florida Christian School, 3000 N.
