Robert G. King, Sr.

Robert G. King, Sr., 81, of Patrick Springs, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on December 5, 1940 in Cana, Virginia to the late Jacob Bedford King and the late Reva Worrell King.  In addition to his parents he was preceded by brothers, Marvin and Michael King and nephew, Ray Lee King.
Robert served his country in the United States Air Force.  He worked for R. P. Thomas and Redline.  He was a former Boy Scout Leader over twenty years Vigal Member Order of the Arrow, Silver Beaver and received George Meany Award, past post V.F.W. Commander #4637 (Ford Stuart Post), Lifetime member of the Hillsville Post #1115, Martinsville and Henry County Honor Guard,
Robert is survived by wife, Nancy King; sons, Robert G. King, Jr. (Cynthia) and Rony Allen King; daughter, Donna Witt (Roscoe); grandchildren, Eddie King, Autumn Hyde, Jacob King and Anna Lee Witt; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special pet, Tator.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Kriss Foley officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Nelson Family Cemetery with military honors by Hillsville Honor Guard.
