Harriet Eastman "Ma Sue" Marshall
Harriet Eastman “Ma Sue” Marshall, 89, of New Chapel Road, Spout Spring, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 11, 2022. She was the wife of the late Elliott Wilkins Marshall, Jr.
Born in Richmond, Va., on January 27, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Alma Woodall and Thomas M. Eastman. She was a member of New Concord Presbyterian Church and the Campbell County Happy Hearts Club, who she especially enjoyed traveling with. Sue had many facets to her career. She was a School bus driver, banker, worked at the garment factory and she ended her work life as a demo lady at Sam’s Club.
She is survived by three children, Karen Marshall Thompson and husband, Steve of Concord, E. Hunter Marshall, and Virginia “Jenny” Marshall and wife, Terri Burgess all of Spout Spring; three grandchildren, Susan Martin and husband, Paul, Levi Thompson and wife, Katie, and Andrew Thompson and wife, Julie; six great-grandchildren, Leah Martin, George Thompson, Annie Thompson, Seth Thompson, Ellie Thompson, James Thompson; and two sisters-in-law, Margarette Ferguson and Bea Downing.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, David, Warren, Edward, and Ernest “Corky” Eastman and their wives.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at New Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev. Janice Fraser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family request that those in attendance please wear a mask.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home.
