Mary Jane Osle Gonsalves

Mary Jean Osle Gonsalves, 85, passed away on February 11, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. A native of CT and MA she was predeceased by her husband George F Gonsalves and her parents Leon Osle and Mary Jean Posadas Osle and her brother, Phillip Osle. Mary was a teacher in elementary education for her professional career. She was a founding member of Westfield Evangelical Free Church and very involved in leading prayer groups, bible studies and soup kitchens. Mary is survived by her daughter, Laura Lee Whitten and husband Brian; son, George F Gonsalves, Jr. and wife Mary; nine grandchildren, Joshua Jendza, Brian R Whitten, Dayna L Whitten, Benjamin Whitten, Margarite Whitten, Sean Gonsalves, Joseph Gonsalves, Madeline Gonsalves, and Nathaniel Gonsalves; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Gatchel and Catherine Crowe and husband Peter; sister-in-law, Shirley Osle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private celebration of life later this spring.
