Vernon Denver Trevillian

May 29, 1925 - February 15, 2022

Vernon Denver Trevillian, 96, of Salem passed peacefully at his home with family on February 15, 2022. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 65 years Margaret Thomas Trevillian and rejoicing with the angels. 
Denver was a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years and Deacon Emeritus. He loved his Church and enjoyed traveling with senior trips, volunteering at area nursing homes, visitation at the VA, Richfield and many homebound members.
Over the years, he served our country in the Navy during WWII. He retired after 42 years from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards with friends, bowling, serving his church, traveling the world, cruises, loved walking along the beach and spending time with his family.
A Loving husband, Dad, Father-in-Law, Granddaddy and Great Granddaddy, a very kind, sweet man.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret, his parents: Flossie Tetter Trevillian, Harry Eugene Trevillian and Mary Hunt Trevillian; and 2 sisters: Yetive Davis and Judith Meador.
He is survived by three sons: Greg Trevillian & Debbie, Ronnie & Libby Trevillian and Tommy & Jenny Trevillian; four grandchildren: Brandon Trevillian, Megan & Marc Turner, Michael & Kayla Trevillian and Tyler Trevillian; four great grandchildren: Marleigh Trevillian, Peyton and Zoey Turner, Beckett Trevillian. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 3 until 5 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2pm by Pastor Hilton Jeffreys. Burial with military honors will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
