Betty Fretwell Austin

Betty F. Austin, 88, of Martinsville, died, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Stanleytown Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born Henry County on August 1, 1933 to the late Henry Fretwell and the late Sallie Koger Fretwell.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rudolph Austin; brothers, Lawrence Fretwell, Edward Fretwell, J. W. Fretwell and a sister, Helen Handy.
She was a member of the Blackberry Baptist Church and retired from Dupont.
She is survived by a brother, Billy Fretwell (Jean); sister-in-law, Deforest Fretwell and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may stop the funeral home Friday, February 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM to sign the register book without the family present.  A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM in in the Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
Due to the governor’s requirements for COVID 19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing should be observed when visiting the funeral home.
