Maurleen Hastings Arthur

Maurleen Hastings Arthur, 68 of Moneta, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1954 in Nottoway County, a daughter of the late James Earl Hastings and Melvie Burnette Hastings. She was also preceded in death by husband, Jesse Bernard Arthur and her son, Justin Arthur.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Arthur; her grandchildren, Madelyn Payne, Lucas Arthur, Brendon Perdue (Meg), Megan Perdue; her great-grandchildren, Maci Mitchell, Justin Perdue; sister, Lea Ann Hastings, nieces, Trena Donaldson (Daniel), Donna Vaughan; nephew, Mark Goode (Belinda); aunt, Rita Caldwell; uncle, Ricky Burnette, and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. David Janney, Rev. Jackie Carver & Dr. Kevin King officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
