Horton L.C. "Bud" Pruitt

HORTON L.C. (“BUD”) PRUITT, 88, of Bland, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Giles Community Hospital. He was born August 28, 1933 in Bastian, VA, the son of the late Avery Horton & Lula Elizabeth Ashby Pruitt.
“Bud” was a member of the Mechanicsburg Christian Church. He loved music and dancing and supported local bands faithfully. He enjoyed his daily walks. He liked talking  with people on CB radios. He enjoyed farming. He enjoyed flea marketing and travelling to different flea markets.
Besides his parents, “Bud” was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Chewning Pruitt, his brothers, Bobby and Eddie and sisters, Euna, Thurleen, Elsie and Jean.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Samuel Lee Pruitt, Joy Lynn Pruitt, Lisa & Cliff Walker and Sarah Eaton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers & sister-in-law, Harold Pruitt and Billy & Nancy Pruitt; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Ann Kinser and Gayle & Barry McPeak; and several nieces and nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Tom Maurer officiating. Burial will follow in Hoge’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
