George Cabell "Cab" Matthews

George Cabell “Cab” Matthews, 72, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was preceded by his father, John Menefee Matthews, Sr.; mother, Virginia Catherine Matthews; and brother, John M. Matthews, Jr.

Mr. Matthews proudly served his county in the U S Air Force. He worked for many years in the computer science field, retiring from ECPI.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Kirk Matthews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Sheffey Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund C/O Dana Randall 160 Parcell Lane Staffordsville, VA 24167

Funeral services will be conducted Noon, Tuesday March 1, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastors Charles Henderson and Bob Moore. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
