Dorinda Mitchell Hopkins

Dorinda M. Hopkins, age 76, born August 13, 1945, from Bedford, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William F. Hopkins; daughter Julie H. Sachse(Cecil Brown); grandchildren, Lauren Odessa Shaver(Derek Johnson), Carlie Elizabeth Griffin; and 2 great-grandchildren, Braxton and Kinsley; her sister, Anne M. Bond(Hugh); brother, Ronald R. Mitchell(Shirley); and preceded in death by brother, F. Edgar Mitchell.
Dorinda was a best friend to many and to her family she was a dedicated, loving and sweet wife, mother, friend, sister, grandmother, and most recently a beaming great-grandmother.
Dorinda and Billy enjoyed many adventures over their 58 years together RVing from Alaska to the Florida Keys. She was the best Mom and friend a daughter could ever hope for. And her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy and a sparkle to her eyes.
There will be visitation from 11:30 until 1 PM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford. Services will be private for immediate family only.
